I need remedies for my memories

Hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving.

A reminder to the art students that Monday will be the start of 'Art Movie Mondays'. Because it's called killing time until Christmas, I am a bad teacher, come prepared to take some notes, because we will be discussing the artists profiled in the movies, and talking about reality vs. Hollywood. So no napping.

Before I can bring out the Christmas related arts and crafts (and trust me, I don’t believe in bringing them out early. There locked away until December 1st) the Halloween craft supplies have to be used up. So have at them. There’s some sort of … spider-web material that I bought in bulk off ebay and I didn’t realize how much of it I bought have. Feel free to use it.

And it is that time of the year again. I’m making up a list of things needed for art classes this upcoming school year - make your requests here. I’m also going to the mall god help me this weekend. So if you need to go, let me know This will not be an all day thing. This will be an in and out of the mall trip. Do not ask me to stay and shop

Busy week for my team, hope they do better then the game against the Kings.

And no art students, we will not be doing any type of Valentines Art project in art class this week.

This can only end well ... (or 'Jeopardy' Robot: Horrible machine defeats humanity's best and brightest).

World Jr. Hockey gold medal game is tonight.

So yes, that is why there is a large almost frighteningly large TV in the art room. Sorry art students, we aren't watching a movie in class today.

Metal christmas tree in the art room has sharp edges, not a problem for some, I know, but for those who that would bother, watch out.

I do think this is rather neat. There won't be any ice sculpting done in art class however --I'm not giving kids sharp chisels and saws. Recipe for disaster.

I could make that out of metal ... it look much realer.

Today in art class we'll be making turkeys.

(That's a joke. In reality consider today's art class a free study period and give thanks that I'm giving you time to do your homework in.).

Just so you know if you need something from the art room (say for anything Halloween related) the general policy is "help yourself" I don't think were going to bankrupt the school if we have a run on art materials. I do sometimes have "works in project" in there, but i'll make sure to label them if they have any sharp edges so no one puts an eye out.

And again: no cell phones, blackberrys, iPods, ect in class. because if your not talking, I can hear them "talking" sometimes, and it drives me more crazy.
